July 2018 update

The Calgary Real Estate Board reports that there are weaker sales in the area due to a few factors, namely mortgage rule changes, higher lending rates, which have had an affect on the housing prices in Calgary.

Residential sales for the month totaled1,896 units, which is 11% nelow last year and 12% below long term averages.  New listings continue to rise with further inventory gains and months of supply now at 4.7 months.

High inventory in comparison to sales have generated more widespread buyer's market conditions, causing downward pressure on prices.

The detached segment of the market accounted for over 60% of overall sales activity.
